As a chief myself, I am curious about this world's judicial system -- up until this point, I was under the impression that there was none to speak of. I have always been of the opinion that this place is in dire need of a police force of some kind, and I would be willing to assist in any way, shape, or form the creation of that force. Acting on instinct, on my own feelings, is only getting me so far. There's not much I can do in this situation; he is going to do what he wants to do, as long as he can justify a perfectly good reason in his mind to do it. That's a Contractor, after all.

I am his friend, or at least, I wish to be. But I was put in charge of dealing with Contractors like this so innocent people wouldn't get hurt, or worse. I didn't want to think of him as a number anymore, but BK-201 is exactly what he chooses to be. He has made that quite clear.

Thank you for the ice, Jack. I'm pretty sure my hungover escapades from the other day have taught me never to touch another alcoholic beverage in the City again, and perhaps to have a taste-tester before drinking from the tap. Given the amount of alcoholics in this place, I'm sure finding someone eager enough to test for alcohol in my beverages should not be a problem.

Who precisely is in charge of this City, anyway? And I don't mean the deities. I don't care to speak to such intangible, incomprehensible beings. At least, not on the matters of law enforcement. Somehow I don't think they particularly mind all the bloodshed and mayhem around this place.

I must admit, I don't think I've seen a sight such as this, the City during Mid-Autumn Festival. I hope there's plenty of good food and drinks to go around.

Conspiracy? End of the World? In other words, just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, that's precisely what happened.


How does that expression go... "out of the frying pan, into the fire"? I think this is something like that.

Despite the wealth of information at mine and everyone else's disposal, there are still so many mysteries surrounding this place. I pulled an all-nighter last night studying the guides and every other last bit of information I could get my hands on. I had nothing better to do at 3 AM and nowhere to be in the morning, so I figured I might as well. I can't sit idle.

I never noticed until I took a break from my studies just how beautiful the sky here really is. Still unfamiliar, but not uncomfortable. Li-kun said they are real; it would be the first time in ten years that I've seen the real thing. Even if they are different, I can't really say I'm disappointed.

Back to work.
